The Dinner Guests by Kiersten Modglin ~ 5⭐

Genre: Psychological Thriller ~ Release Date: May 1, 2022

REVIEW: I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Wow! Kiersten Modglin knocked my socks off! You can’t have a better reading experience than reading one of her books. I thought her last book Tell Me The Truth was my favorite but, now I think it’s The Dinner Guests. I have been reading and reviewing Kiersten’s books since May of 2020. There have been a lot of books in the last two years and my favorite has changed a lot.

This book starts out with several childhood friends that move into the same neighborhood right next door and across the street from each other. That in itself is an interesting premise. Then the developer of their community who lives at the end of the cul de sac suddenly moves and doesn’t say goodbye. They are a little confused and wonder where they went. The new couple moves in and immediately installs a high fence and gate around the property and security equipment. What are they hiding or what are they afraid of?

The couples that are friends on the street all get black invitations to a dinner party at the new neighbors house. Black invitations? How odd. Are they going or do they send regrets? There is so much I want to tell you but, I won’t give any spoilers away. Make sure you read the synopsis.

I highly recommend this book. It will keep your interest and keep you on the edge of your seat. I couldn’t wait to get to the end to see how everything worked out with the friends. If you like Psychological Thrillers, then this is a must read. You’ll be glad you did.

A lifetime of secrets.
One terrifying game.

When a group of friends receives unexpected invitations to a dinner party, they see it as a chance to finally meet the bizarre and reclusive new neighbor whose home is enshrouded in layers of security.

As the drinks are poured and dinner is served, the group begins to realize things are not what they seem. What starts out as an innocent night of fun soon becomes a seemingly calculated game filled with cryptic messages and chilling revelations.

With no way out, the guests are forced to play along in hopes of escape. Friendships fray, loyalties are tested, and the secrets they’ve kept from each other are revealed one by one.

Six friends walk into the house that night.
Will six friends make it out?
