Ruthless Vows by Victoria Ellis ~ 4⭐

Genres: Organized Crime & Romance ~ Release Date: September 13, 2023

REVIEW: Ruthless Vows by Victoria Ellis is the first book in her new Til Mafia Do Us Part series. Book two will be released in October named Vicious Heir. Keep your eye out for it if you find yourself entertained by Ruthless Vows.

I am giving Ruthless Vows 4 stars for the simple reason that Ms. Ellis is so skilled she roped me in and tied me down until I finished the book. After I read the first few pages, I was not going to read it. The closer it got to release day the more I felt called to read it. So, I finished it this morning.

Ruthless Vows is not the sort of book I read often. Once in a while, I will take a break from my usual books and read something different. This was different. I will have to say that. I don’t really read books that are so graphic. This book was very violent and very explicit. More than I was looking for.

The love story in this book was…I don’t have words for it. It was rough, tender, and again explicit. Most of us women want a man that loves her and protects her like Dante. Giana is a lucky woman. These two characters burned the pages of the book up and my eyeballs! I am not adverse to reading that but, wow. Just wow. If nothing else, this book is worth the story of Dante and Giana.

The Mafia part of this book was in your face graphic. There were three families and all of them were enemies with each other. There was so much killing. How do they get away with that? There was so much tort*re as payback and for sport. I am not sure how that exists in this world. Hopefully, it doesn’t.

I will say that when I was reading this book there were times I was glued to the page. It was entertaining. I am seriously considering if this is a genre I want to read more of.  There are content warnings in the synopsis. Read them. Take them seriously. Until next time…Happy Reading!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. All opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

SYNOPSIS: Romeo & Juliet have nothing on a made mafia member and the one woman he was supposed to stay away from.

Dante De Santis
I took an oath in blood–one that binds me to the mafia until my dying breath.
I vow to live and die by the family. Murder. Extortion. Manipulation…it’s all in an honest day’s work.

I didn’t know who she was when she walked into my sex club, but I damn sure do now.
She’s the daughter of my biggest rival—the mafia princess from The Amato Crime Family.
She’s untouchable, yet unavoidable.

And now that I’ve had a taste of my forbidden little fruit, there’s not a chance I’m letting her go.

Giana Amato
I’ve lived my life in the shadows—a pretty porcelain figurine my father flashes at fancy parties.
One night. It’s all I’ve asked for and it’s all I’m given…because how much trouble could I possibly get into in one night?

I didn’t know who he was when I walked into his club, but now I can’t forget him.
He’s one of my father’s most merciless enemies—a capo for The De Santis Crime Family.
He’s sexier than any fantasy I’ve ever had.

And despite knowing this decision could be the death of me, I can’t stay away from him…

Even though I’m promised to the heir of the Blood Syndicate Cartel.
